I only have $25,000 in Life Insurance

In my review, I have budgeted $12,000 for cremation and a small celebration of life. This amount is high, but I was trying to factor inflation if I live a long time. Next, I estimate it will take $10,000 to clear up all of my outstanding debts and business expenses. This dollar figure is inflated as I may die after I retire and no longer have business expenses or quarterly estimated tax payments. I am hoping that my small $5,000 in savings will be easily accessible to pay for the final expenses.

The explanation of the rule changes by CMS is peppered with terms like “protect consumers”, “stable marketplace”, “reduce adverse selection”, and “improve risk pool.” However, the individual and family market has been very stable for many years. I have not heard of any California health plans getting sick, going bankrupt, or dying because they could not get health care.

Ashland Station: Myth, Folklore, or Folsom Fact?

It was the folklore, with no documented evidence, that this old weather-worn structure was determined to be historic. The structure, used for decades as an elevated barn and packing shed for local fruit harvests, was unambiguously believed to be part of the Sacramento, Placer and Nevada Railroad. The belief in the historic nature of the structure was the result of oral attribution of its provenance.

We Replaced the Gas with an Induction Cooktop

Since installing the induction cooktop, nothing has really changed. We’ve been cooking all the regular food stuffs with no issues. The biggest change is the lack of waste heat from the open flame. The open flame of the gas burners really made the kitchen hot and virtually unbearable in the summer. The air conditioner would fight with the gas cooktop to keep the room from becoming a sauna.

2025 Medicare Insurance Premiums for the Monthly Budget

The monthly insurance premium for Part B of Medicare is $185 for individuals who had earned less than $106,000 or $212,000 for a married couple filing a joint federal income tax return. As the household income increases, the insurance premium for Part B increases. For individuals who earned over $500,000, the Part B premium is $628.90 per month for 2025. Remember that the monthly premiums are per person. If a married coupled earned over $750,000 and are eligible for Medicare, each person will pay $628.90 for Part B.
